Leadership & Public Service Institute Mentor

YWCA Lincoln seeks mentors for our Leadership and Public Service
Institute, a year long program for young women, who are incoming high
school freshmen, seeking leadership opportunities. The Leadership and
Public Service Institute’s mission is to educate young women about the
importance of public service and to improve their leadership skills.

Here's what we ask:

1. Complete a background check and a volunteer application.
2. Commit to meeting with your mentee once a month from September to May.
3. Attend a Mentor-Mentee Reception, where you will meet the young
women of the Institute, or complete a Mentor Profile sheet.
4. Share any concerns and ideas with YWCA Lincoln staff.
5. Be enthusiastic, positive, and excited to work with your mentee!

Here's what you can expect from YWCA Lincoln:

1. A small Mentor Guidebook, which includes:
       a. Mentoring best practices
       b. Ideas for what to do with your mentee
2. Monthly communication from YWCA Lincoln regarding:
       a. LPSI activities
       b. Public service opportunities
       c. Mentee/Mentor discussion topics
3. Support from YWCA Lincoln staff.
