Lincoln, NE--On Thursday September 10 previous Caregiver Chick of the Lincoln Caregivers Education Group Suzy Campbell will be training members of the Lincoln community to provide respite care for people with disabilities to raise awareness of respite care and to advocate for current respite caregivers.
Campbell will focus on teaching the key steps of preparing, caring, and connecting to help new respite providers establish trusting relationships with the care recipient and their primary caregiver. Additionally, Campbell seeks to give respite providers the confidence and skills necessary once they begin working as providers and to give the primary caregivers a break.
The session will be held on September 10 at the Saint Paul United Methodist Church located at 1144 M Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking is available under the church off of 11th Street. The training is free and lunch will be provided.
